ART AND WRITING COMPETITIONS FOR 2008 EISTEDDFOD

The titles/themes are for both Primary and Secondary. There are cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for each of the following: Years1&2, 3&4, 5&6, 7-11 and 12&13.

ART: "Carnival Parade"

POETRY: "Celebrations"

ESSAY: "Guided Tour of Abergavenny"

Primary School competitions 2007 Eisteddfod

Approx time of competitions (includes time to award medals, and secondary

school disco dance competition). End time approx 2.15 pm.

1. Individual recitation, school years 1, 2 & 3 9.00 am.

2. Solo voice, school years 1, 2 & 3

3. Piano solo, school years 1, 2 & 3

4. Group folk dance, school years 1, 2 & 3

5. Welsh second language solo recitation, years 1, 2 & 3

6. Group disco dance, yrs 3 & 4 (min 4, max 10) 10.00 am.

7. Solo voice, school years 4, 5 & 6

8. Group folk dance, school years 4, 5 & 6

9. Piano solo, school years 4, 5 & 6

10. Individual recitation, school years 4, 5 & 6 11.00 am.

11. Woodwind instrumental solo, school year 6 and under

12. Welsh second language solo recitation, years 4, 5 & 6

13. Brass instrumental solo, school year 6 and under

14. Choral recitation, school year 6 and under

Award of Abergavenny Town Council Art & Literature prizes 12.00 noon

15. Duet (alto/soprano voices) year 6 and under

16. Instrumental ensemble, yr 6 & under (min 5, max 15)

17. Unison group, year 6 & under (min 5, max 15)

18. Instrumental duet or trio, school year 6 & under 1.15 pm.

19. Group disco dance, yrs 5 & 6 (min 4, max 10)

20. String and harp instrumental solo, school yr 6 and under

21. Disco dancing (4 - 12 in number), school years 7 - 13 2.00 pm.

Secondary School Competitions 2007 Eisteddfod

Please note that information about Art and Literature competitions will be posted soon

Disco dancing (4-12 in number) School years 7 - 13 (see 21 above) 2.00 pm.

There will be a short lunch break for adjudicators

1. Solo instrumental jazz performance, school years 7 - 13 2.30 pm.

2. Recitation: speech from a play or poem, yrs 7 - 9

3. Classical instrumental group (min 4, max 12), years 7 - 13

4. Recitation for Welsh learners, school years 7 - 9 3.15 pm.

5. Classical instrumental duet or trio, school years 7 - 13

6. Solo vocal - song from a musical or classical, school years 7 - 9

7. Solo instrumental classical performance (any instr. but piano), yrs 7-13 ` 4.00 pm.

8. Piano classical performance, school years 7 - 9

9. Jazz duet or trio, school years 7 - 13

10. Recitation - speech from a play or poem, school years 10 - 13

11. Solo vocal - song from a musical or classical, school yrs 10 - 13

12. Recitation for Welsh learners, school years 10 - 13 5.00 pm.

13. Piano classical performance, school years 10 - 13

14. Jazz group (min 4, max 12 in number) Years 7 - 13
