How to be a patron

A list of our valued current Patrons is shown on the Patrons page. Their support is invaluable in funding the Eisteddfod's running costs, and helping the Eisteddfod to survive from year to year.

Patrons enable the Eisteddfod to give local children and young people the opportunity to perform on stage and develop their talents in the performing arts. In addition, they are supporting a bilingual cultural event which contributes to Abergavenny's lively annual programme of activities - a draw for residents and visitors alike.

Patrons' support is acknowledged on the Eisteddfod programme, and they receive invitations to attend the Eisteddfod concert and evening reception, together with advance notice of any special events organised during the year.

The Eisteddfod's main costs are prizes and medals for competitors, payment for adjudicators and accompanists, printing flyers and programmes and venue hire. The Eisteddfod is organised by a voluntary committee.
